چکیده
Today, bruxism is a fairly common phenomenon. Bruxism often defined as the parafunctional activity of masticatory and facial muscles. Parafunction called increased inappropriate activity, tension or even spasm muscles, well muscles tongue. However, peculiarity work during day in patients with signs remains insufficiently studied.
The aim our study was to determine features EMG-activity bruxism.
Materials methods research. We performed clinical examination superficial electromyography (EMG) 13 subjects aged 25 43 years. There were 7 women (53.8%), 6 men (46.2%). All examined somatically healthy, had no bad habits defects dental arches. mean age 32.5 ± 5.4 In sample patients, there such pathological abrasion hard tissues teeth; point dentin exposure; cracks tooth enamel; hyperesthesia; pain feeling discomfort anterior temporal masseter using 4-channel computerized electromyograph, according recommendations by Ferrario V., Sforza C. Electrical biopotentials registered tests lasting 10 s each: maximum bilateral teeth clenching, clenching on left side; right side. data obtained EMG processed Synapsis software from Neurotech. analyzed indicators amplitude, amplitude (μV) each muscle every test. For objective evaluation results, we 15 comparable sex without (control group, 33.4 6.1 years).
Research results. determined characteristics control group test clenching: symmetrical sides (p> 0.05), value contractions did not exceed 1200 μV. It found higher working side, compared balancing one unilateral that statistically confirmed (p<0,05).
bruxism, differed group. Thus, all significantly (p <0.05) among people bruxism. majority cases (10 – 76.9%) greater than temporal. slightly but difference side 0.05). bruxism: presence rhythmic peaks resting phase. Differences between evaluated analyses Student’s paired t-test. hypotheses verified at level significance p<0,05.
Conclusions. complex problem whole human body, characterized neuromuscular activity. study, some studied established. Patients values maximum, which are 2.3-3.5 times normal. most cases, Presence phase found. future, it planned individual changes different stages total rehabilitation.

متن کاملBruxism. Masticatory implications and anxiety.
In this study we investigate the phenomenon of bruxism, defined as the act of clenching and/or grinding the teeth, a habit that compromises the orofacial region. It is often associated with emotional aspects, such as anxiety and stress, and may result in alterations to orofacial structures, functional modifications and social repercussions. The aim of this study was to determine a possible asso...
متن کاملInvestigating activity of masticatory muscles in patients with hypermobile temporomandibular joints by using EMG
BACKGROUND Temporomandibular joint hypermobility (TMJH) can manifest higher range of motions in mandible. The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the activity of masticatory muscle of TMJs in healthy individuals and patients with mild, moderate and severe TMJH. MATERIAL AND METHODS In this clinical study, 69 patients (between the ages of 22 to 42) with manifestation of TMJH were ...
متن کاملEffect of jaw opening on masticatory muscle EMG-force characteristics.
This study was designed to evaluate the way in which changes in vertical jaw opening affected the relative contributions of various masticatory muscles to bite force production. EMG activity was recorded simultaneously from the masseter, and anterior, middle, and posterior temporalis muscles, during controlled isometric biting at different force levels and vertical jaw openings. EMG-force chara...

Mandibular kinematic and standardized surface electromyography (sEMG) characteristics of masticatory muscles of subjects with short lasting TMD of mild-moderate severity were examined. Volunteers were submitted to clinical examination and questionnaire of severity. Ten subjects with TMD (age 27.3years, SD 7.8) and 10 control subjects without TMD, matched by age, were selected. Mandibular moveme...
